{"id":2490,"date":"2019-10-09T10:56:55","date_gmt":"2019-10-09T10:56:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csbronline.org\/?p=2490"},"modified":"2020-04-17T04:16:39","modified_gmt":"2020-04-17T04:16:39","slug":"2490","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csbronline.org\/?p=2490","title":{"rendered":"Tajassodat ~ the Zine: A Documentation of A Cross-Regional Convening"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"639\" height=\"691\" src=\"https:\/\/csbronline.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/TajassodatZineCover.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/csbronline.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/TajassodatZineCover.png 639w, https:\/\/csbronline.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/TajassodatZineCover-277x300.png 277w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 639px) 100vw, 639px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re very excited to show you what we\u2019ve been up to!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/qorras.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Qorras<\/strong><\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/csbronline.org\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>CSBR &#8211; Coalition for Sexual and Bodily Rights in Muslim Societies<\/strong><\/a> collaborated on organizing a 5-day cross-regional strategic convening, <em><strong>Tajassodat: Conversations to advance Trans Rights and Justice Across Muslim Societies.<\/strong><\/em><strong> <\/strong><em><strong>Tajassodat<\/strong> <\/em>brought together 23 activists from 13 countries across South Asia, South East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, to discuss various topics, from personal experiences, to collective support, and activism history in these regions.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of this convening, we\u2019ve put together a Zine, compiling the illustrations that resulted from the conversations on bodily autonomy, self-determination and community organizing of collaborators. Its contents were collected, produced and edited by the organizers and contributors of Tajassodat, with the aim of documenting the 5 days of exchanges, discussions, and personal reflections. The Zine also consists of a visual and written timeline of the convening, as well as other documents that were used.
